The papermaking workshop was ended, and today is the day to go home. This is the view from the hotel lounge where we spend time together in the evenings. We miss it! It was a great trip!

We had bento boxes for dinner at the factory and took a mini-workshop of decorative paper dyeing techniques. It is the traditional techniques, but some of students made pretty contemporary patterns using these techniques.
We made more paper with flowing method. We also learned accumulative method to make paper, which is easy and quick. We dried papers we made yesterday. It was exciting to see how thin but strong our papers were!
We made papers all day! Instructors at the factory were impressed by how quickly we learned flowing method (nagashizuki) technique. We had great time to play with fiber, water and sukibune.
We had great time in Naoshima, but it is time to leave! We took ferry go to Shikoku island, where the paper making studio, Awagami Factory is.
We started to parepare the Kozo fiber for our own Japanese paper. The barks were harvested in spring and kept dry. Bunch of them were soaked in water for us from last night.
We had rain all day. We had easy day, just visited Lee Ufan Museum, Chicyu Art Museum, and Ando Museum and relaxing late afternoon time in the hotel to rest. Some of students visited the public bath in the island.
